Restaurant Review

NOPI

NOPI is wonderful restaurant in  the Soho area of  London and is by far one of my favorite places to eat whenever I am in town. Yotam Ottolenghi does it again. He has transformed the food scene in London and has partnered with Chef Scully to provide us with a little piece of heaven at NOPI.  It is beautifully designed – think white backdrop with brass accents! Fresh and modern- it is truly a place where you can sit, relax and share plates with family and friends. The food is just divine. It is a fusion of  Middle Eastern/Mediterranean and Asian flavors.

Good food is one of the essentials of life. NOPI is one of the best restaurants I have been to in a while. I loved it so much I went twice in the past year! The food is fresh, full of flavor and appears simple but has a complex depth of flavor.

At the entrance, you are greeted with fresh veggie options. This bountiful display as is typical of all his cafes and the waiters have easy access to some of the starters on the menu.

We tried the cauliflower and beet salads, both served with fresh baked bread and the best olive oil.

How does one make pork belly crispy and perfectly tender at the same time? Green papaya salad is the perfect accompaniment.

Twice – cooked baby chicken with chili sauce and kaffir lime salt is one of their signature dishes……. it paired perfectly with the grape leaf wrapped jewel rice- with refreshing cucumber mint salad. Just divine.

Let me know what you think if you have been- if not, make it a part of your trip while in London!
