EASY BRIOCHE FRENCH TOAST

Weekend mornings are special- they demand that you slow down and make something decadent and delicious. This baked french toast is EASY. No need for any griddles or frying pans – YAY.  Its also great for a crowd and it can be prepped the night before as well. Can’t get easier than that!

 

 

 

 

 

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup coarsely chopped pecans, if desired, divided
  • 14-16 oz brioche loaf, sliced 1 inch thick
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup half and half
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt

 

  1. Pour melted butter in a 9×13 baking dish
  2. Sprinkle melted butter evenly with brown sugar, cinnamon and  1/6 cup pecans (if desired )
  3. Arrange bread as shown, overlapping slightly
  4. Whisk eggs, milk half and half, vanilla and salt in a medium bowl
  5. Pour mixture on bread, sprinkle with the reserved pecans
  6. Cover with foil or plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes or up to overnight
  7. Bake, uncovered,  at 350 degrees  for 30 minutes until golden brown
  8. Serve with fresh berries, powdered sugar and maple syrup
  9. ENJOY!
